PEMBROKE, N.C. - The Glenville State Baseball team dropped their first game of their North Carolina Spring Break trip, falling to UNC Pembroke 19-1. The Braves produced 19 hits, holding the Pioneer offense to just three hits.

It was all Braves from the jump as UNCP plated seven runs in the opening inning. After a scoreless 2nd, UNC Pembroke added on with four runs in the top of 3rd, four more in the 4th and another four runs in the 5th, making it an 18-0 game after five innings of play. The Pioneers got on the board in the top of the 8th when Vincent Turner hit an opposite field home run. UNCP crossed their final run of the contest in the bottom of the 8th, completing their 19-1 win.

Vincent Turner had two of the Pioneers three hits while also recording the blue and white's only RBI. Adam Bright finished with a hit as well. Six Pioneers pitched today with Jesus Del Valle taking the loss, going two innings and surrendering nine runs (eight earned) on six hits and two walks.
13 different Braves picked up a hit with six of them finishing with two. Morgan Padgett led UNCP with 3 RBI, followed by Joey Rezek, Andrew Jenner and Carlos Amezquita recording 2 RBI each. The Braves also had six different pitchers take the mound with Tyler Strickland taking the win and Will Harris earning the save.
