GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Softball team split with Frostburg State today, falling in game one 2-1 and winning game two 2-1. The Pioneers had their 34-inning streak of no runs allowed broken in the first game of the day.

The first inning was scoreless but Shelby McDaniels got the Pioneers on the board in the bottom of the 2nd with an RBI single. Jamie Roberts and Holly Brehm got into a pitcher's duel, stranding runners on base and keeping the game close. Roberts helped her own case in the top of the 6th, hitting a two-run home run over the centerfield wall to give the Bobcats a 2-1 lead. Roberts would then sit the Pioneers down in order in the 6th and 7th, closing out the victory for FSU.

Game Two – GSU 2 | FSU 1
Another close game saw a lot pf pitching and defense, however it didn't seem that way early as the Pioneers put up two runs in the bottom of the 2nd on a Makenna Negley RBI single and a Hannah Howe sac fly. In the following inning, Frostburg trimmed the deficit to one with a solo home run. Neither team could muster together much more offense for the remainder of the game which faired well for GSU as their early one-run lead held strong throughout, earning the split with the 2-1 win.
