WHEELING, W.Va. - The Glenville State Softball team split with Wheeling today on the road, winning game one 3-1 and falling 5-2 in game two. The Pioneers produced 13 hits on the day.
Game One – GSU 3 | WHL 1
Delaney Warnick stole home to put the first run of the game on the board, giving Holly Brehm an early lead. In the 3rd, Shelby McDaniels added to the GSU lead with an RBI single, bringing Kylee Goodman home. A few innings later, Wheeling broke Brehm's perfect game up with a solo home run. Monica Rodelo added an insurance run on an RBI single in the 7th. Brehm completed her gem in the bottom half of the 7th, giving the Pioneers the 3-1 win.

Delaney Warnick, Shelby McDaniels and Kaitlyn Rizor picked up two hits while McDaniels and Monica Rodelo recorded an RBI each. Holly Brehm fanned 12 and allowed just two hits and one walk to pick up the win.
Chyla Miller and Anna Florczak had the lone hits for the Cardinals. Tessa Wise was handed the loss, surrendering three runs (two earned) on eight hits and four walks.
Game Two – GSU 2 | WHL 5
The Cardinals produced game two's first run on an RBI single in the 1st inning. Shelby McDaniels brought home Kaitlyn Rizor on an RBI triple in the top of the 2nd to tie the contest up. Wheeling took the lead in the top of the 4th with two runs and added onto their advantage in the 5th with two more runs. GSU plated a run in the 6th, but that would be all they could muster together as WHL closed out the 5-2 victory.

Five Pioneers recorded a hit with Shelby McDaniels finishing with both of the Pioneers RBI's. Madison Thimmes was handed the loss out of the pen.
Natalie Stoner led the Cardinals with two hits and an RBI while Cassie Feyh and Maria Clark also picked up an RBI. Ryleigh Peters was victorious with a complete game, only allowing two runs (both earned) on five hits and five walks.

Glenville State faces West Liberty tomorrow in a doubleheader at 2 & 4 p.m. Though the games were orignally moved to Steubenville HS, they have been moved back to the Hilltopper Softball Complex in West Liberty, W.Va.
