WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - The Glenville State Softball team produced two shutout victories today at West Liberty, defeating the Hilltoppers 2-0 and 3-0 on the road. With the wins, the Pioneers move into 4th place in the MEC South Division.
Game One – GSU 2 | WLU 0
Monica Rodelo got Holly Brehm a run early in the game, smacking an RBI single to right to make it 1-0. West Liberty's Madison Angus was strong throughout, leaving Pioneers stranded during the contest. With the game being mostly a pitcher's duel, it took until the 7th inning before another run would be scored. Kylee Goodman walked to bring in the insurance run in the top of the 7th and Brehm picked up two K's in the bottom half to secure the 2-0 win.

Delaney Warnick and Emma McLean both had two hits while Monica Rodelo and Kylee Goodman finished the game with an RBI each. Holly Brehm pitched yet another gem, allowing just one hit and striking out an outstanding 16 batters.
Shelby Harris had the lone hit for the Hilltoppers with a walk as well. Madison Angus pitched well but was handed the loss with a stat line of 7.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB and 2 K's.
Game Two – GSU 3 | WLU 0
Just like the first game, the Hilltoppers and Pioneers got into another pitcher's duel. An RBI double, throwing error by the West Liberty catcher and a passed ball allowed Glenville to plate three runs in the 6th inning. Those three runs would be too much for the WLU offense as Holly Brehm came into the close the 3-0 victory for GSU.

Four different Pioneers recorded a hit, led by Delaney Warnick's one hit and lone RBI. Kylie Burdick went 5.1 innings to get the win, allowing no runs with four hits, two walks and three strikeouts. Brehm picked up her second save of the campaign.
Sara Simon had two hits to lead the Hilltoppers while four other West Liberty hitters had a hit. Kadence Pettit received the loss, giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks.
