THE OPPONENTSÂ
WEST LIBERTYÂ
2025 SeasonÂ
West Liberty (1-8, 0-6 MEC) enters Wednesday's contest searching for its first conference win of the season. The Hilltoppers' lone victory came in a commanding 8-0 shutout over Salem in late September. Despite recent struggles, WLU has shown improvement in possession and tempo, especially in home matches.Â
Quick Look at The HilltoppersÂ
Senior striker Mia Zecca remains the key scoring threat, supported by midfielder Ellie Cunningham, who brings creativity and work rate in the final third. West Liberty has struggled defensively, conceding 10 goals across its last two matches, but they've proven capable of creating high-quality chances when given space.Â
FAIRMONT STATEÂ
2025 SeasonÂ
Fairmont State (6-1-1, 4-1-1 MEC) arrives in Glenville as one of the league's top-performing squads, holding strong wins over Frostburg State and Concord. The Falcons' only loss came last week in a narrow 3-2 battle against West Virginia State, ending their undefeated run.Â
Quick Look at The FalconsÂ
Fairmont's offense has been among the most dangerous in the MEC, led by Montserrat Diaz, who has six goals on the year, and Serenity Thomas, who adds five more. The duo works alongside playmaker Valentina Gianinetto, who has chipped in two goals and several assists this fall. Defensively, the Falcons are organized and difficult to break down, anchored by goalkeeper Dayra Dinarte and a back line that's allowed just nine goals all season.Â
THE PIONEERSÂ
GLENVILLE STATEÂ
2025 Season
Glenville State (2-6-1, 2-4-1 MEC) continues to find its rhythm, coming off of a 2-0 shutout victory at Point Park. Solares Solano has been the spark in attack, recording both goals in that win and now leading the Pioneers with four on the season. Valentina Quiroz and Aitana Viejo have also found the net in recent weeks, helping balance Glenville's offensive threats.Â
Head coach J.R. Dodson's squad has grown more confident each week, backed by a defense that blanked one of the premiere scoring offenses on Monay. The Pioneers will look to build off their recent momentum as they chase their third win of the season and another key result in conference play.Â
