THE OPPONENTS
KUTZTOWN
2024-25 Season
It was an historic 2024-25 season for the Golden Bears, who went (22-12) overall and (14-7) in the PSAC while capturing their first-ever PSAC championship. It was just their second appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1996.
Quick Look at The Golden Bears
Kutztown returns senior guard Leila Hurley, who averaged 10.7 PPG and shot a PSAC-best 36.3% from three last season. Olivia Smelas is back to handle to middle after averaging 7.7 PPG and 6.8 RPG in 2024-25, as well as Bella Quinn, who averaged nearly six points a contest. There are new faces for 31
st year head coach Janet Malouf, who has won the PSAC Coach of the Year award four times in her tenured career. The Golden Bears were picked 2
nd in the PSAC East preseason poll as well.
WEST CHESTER
2024-25 Season
The Golden Rams played .500 ball in 2024-25, finishing the season (15-15, 11-10 PSAC) and advancing into the PSAC Quarterfinals before having their season ended.
Quick Look at The Golden Rams
West Chester lost their two top scorers from a year ago, but they did retain three starters, including key piece Bella Mazur. She averaged nearly nine points during her freshman season and reached double figures 12 times last season. Starters Alainna Hopta and Erin Daley are both back, with Daley scoring 8.6 PPG and grabbing 5.9 RPG last year. 11
th year head coach Kiera Wooden's squad was picked 4
th in the PSAC East preseason poll.
THE LADY PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2024-25 Season
The Lady Pioneers finished last year (19-12, 11-9 MEC) and advanced to the MEC Tournament Championship before falling to Fairmont State. Glenville State landed two on the All-MEC teams, but neither return for the Lady Pioneers in 2025-26.
Look at The Lady Pioneers
Third-year head coach
Emily Stoller retained one of the league's most prolific scorers from last season in MEC Freshman of the Year
Nwando Okigbo, who averaged a double-double at 12.1 PPG and 10.8 RPG. Starting guards
Ashlyn Riley (8.0 PPG, 4.3 RPG) and
Stevi Yancy (6.4 PPG, 3.4 APG) are also back for the Lady Pioneers.
"Really happy to bring back some key pieces to the puzzles," said Coach Stoller on the Pioneer Coaches Show. "Getting to the championship game (last year), bringing back that type of experience and exposure back will really carry us throughout this year."
It was a busy offseason for Stoller and her staff, as the 2025-26 roster will feature 10 new Lady Pioneers, including Salem transfer
Carine Pinkney. The 5-foot guard averaged 17.2 PPG, 3.4 RPG and 2.1 APG for the Tigers last season and scored a whopping 32 points against Seton Hill in an earlier season scrimmage.
"She's a coach's dream I'll say that. Our system and style of play couldn't fit her more perfectly," added Stoller.
Kentucky State transfer
Khalia Bryant adds some versatility at the stretch four, as the 5-foot-11 senior notched 10.1 PPG and 8.5 RPG in 2024-25. Versatility is what 5-foot-10 guard
Wonder Nkoyock brings for GSU this season also, as the former Independence JC / Eastern New Mexico transfer averaged over 17 points per game two seasons ago.
The first look at the Lady Pioneers will be streaming on the PSAC Digital Network tomorrow (Nov. 14) when Glenville State pairs up with Kutztown at 3 p.m.
