SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneer Women's Basketball team outscored Slippery Rock by 13 in the fourth quarter to get third road victory in a row, 89-75, and improve to (3-0) in 2025-26.
1st Half
Ashlyn Riley made the first field goal of the game with a three-point jump shot and Wonder Nkoyock cut the SRU lead to just three at the end of one quarter before Glenville State would take control of the game in the second quarter. GSU outscored The Rock by seven in the period, with scores from Nwando Okigbo, Keanti Thompson and Payton James as Carine Pinkney hit a buzzer-beating three to push the Lady Pioneer lead to four at the halftime intermission.
2nd Half
The third quarter was closely contested as GSU could not build on their advantage, as it would take almost two minutes for either team to score, but back-to-back scores from Pinkney and Riley extended the GSU lead to seven. Two minutes later, a three from Okigbo extended the lead even further to ten, but SRU would climb back into the game and cut the lead to one of the end of three. In the fourth, the Lady Pioneers allowed the home team to score just 11 points, and ultimately closed out the game with great defense and scores from Nylah Davis and Jayda Allie as the blue and white would be victorious, 89-75.

Slippery Rock
Alyssa Gillin led the team in scoring with 22 while also recording five rebounds and four assists. Iyanna Wade had 17 points and six assists with Mairan Haggerty adding 15 points and five rebounds.
Glenville State
Carine Pinkney led the team in scoring with 18 as she also recorded nine rebounds, three assists and was perfect from three-point range. Nwando Okigbo recorded another double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds with an additional three blocks on the defensive end of the floor. Payton James had 11 points, Khalia Bryant had nine with Ashlyn Riley and Keanti Thompson notching eight points each.

Glenville State will continue their early season road swing with a matchup against Bluefield State in Bluefield on Tuesday (Nov. 25). Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
