BLUEFIELD, W.Va. - The Glenville State Women's Basketball team had their shooting woes doom them in Bluefield as GSU fell to the Big Blue on Tuesday (Nov. 25) night, 84-72.
1st Half
Glenville State outscored Bluefield State in the first quarter, 16-15, with three pointers from Stevi Yancy and Ashlyn Riley, however there were turnovers for both teams in a back-and-forth first to limit scoring. In the second, GSU would score the same number of points as the first, but gave up 23 and found themselves down six at the halftime break, 38-32.
2nd Half
In the third quarter, the Lady Pioneers shot the ball better as Jayda Allie and Nwando Okigbo had cut the lead to five, however BSU would go 6-8 from the free-throw line in the third to hold their lead. To begin the fourth, GSU found themselves down seven, and would cut the lead to just two after a Riley three but BSU fended off the Lady Pioneer comeback, winning 84-72 to give Glenville State their first loss of the 2025-26 campaign.

Bluefield State
Leniyah Fulsom led the team in scoring with 19 points and recorded six assists with four rebounds. Jasmine Jenkins had 18 points, four rebounds and three steals while Azahreya Drayton-Gill had 16 points and eight rebounds.
Glenville State
Ashlyn Riley led the team in scoring in the game with 15, Nwando Okigbo had 12 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Carine Pinkney and Keanti Thompson both had 11 points while Stevi Yancy had 10 to round out the double-digit scorers..
