SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Glenville State Softball team swept a doubleheader on Saturday against Catawba, 9-4, and Erskine, 15-2, to capture their first victories of the 2025 season.
Game One - GSU 9 | Catawba 4
GSU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after a Kylee Goodman double and a Delaney Warnick single. Catawba answered with a run in the top of the second, however GSU would score again after an Addison Aginiga RBI groundout to make the score 3-1. Glenville State would add on later with an Emma McLean two RBI single and a Zailees Seda home run to put the game out of reach, securing GSU's first victory in the new campaign.

Carter collected two hits while Gallagher and Hales both recorded one. Herring took the loss on the mound, giving up seven earned runs while striking out just one.
Glenville State
Meghan Stump recorded the win on the mound, pitching three innings and allowing one earned run with two strikeouts. Kylee Burdick picked up the save, throwing four innings and allowing two earned and not surrendering a walk. Delaney Warnick had two hits, Emma McLean had one knock with two RBIs and Zailees Seda had the big home run for GSU.
Game Two - GSU 15 | Erskine 2 (5 Inn.)
The Pioneers took an early lead and never looked back against Erskine. Kylee Goodman had a RBI groundout in the first to start the scoring while Kylie Burdick kept opposing hitters at bay all evening. The third inning would supply all the runs the Pioneers would need in this one as Shelby McDaniels had a bunt single to drive in one, Delaney Warnick hit a three-run home run, AndiJo Howard had an RBI single, MaKenna Negley had an RBI double and Addison Agiuiniga had an RBI single to turn the order back over to McDaniels as she had another RBI single in the third, making the score 11-2 after three innings.
Makenna Negley would put the game on ice with a three RBI triple in the fourth, making the score 14-2. Seda brought Negley home to produce the final run and the pitching staff closed the book early as GSU won 15-2 in five innings.
Final Stats
Erskine
Ingram led the team with two hits and an RBI with Crouch and Crawford both recording hits. Cox took the loss on the mound, allowing 10 runs on 10 hits.
Glenville State
AndiJo Howard recorded her first collegiate win, allowing one run in five innings of work while walking one and striking out one. Delaney Warnick had three RBIs and a home run, Makenna Negley had three hits and four RBIs, Shelby McDaniels had two hits and two RBIs and Kylee Goodman had a hit and two RBIs.
