BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Glenville State Baseball seniors
Zac Bayor (Co-Player of the Week) and
Nathan Farmer (Pitcher of the Week) have earned Mountain East Conference weekly recognition, the league announced. The weekly awards are presented by
The Health Plan.
Bayor, who shared MEC Player of the Week with West Virginia State's Brodie Gunther, helped lead the Pioneers to a series win over Clarion this past weekend, going 5-for-10 with 2 HR, 1 double and 5 RBIs. He also walked three times and scored three runs. Bayor had multiple 2+ hit performances with two hits in game one and three in game two while having 2 RBI in game one, 2 RBI (including game-tying HR in the bottom of the 7th) in game two and 1 RBI in the series clinching game three.
Farmer earned MEC Pitcher of the Week after hurling five innings of three-hit baseball against Clarion in game three of the series. Farmer allowed one earned run and walked two but struck out seven with five groundouts forced. The senior out of Frederick, Md. had an impressive first inning (three strikeouts) and third inning (two strikeouts) to go along with his performance. He capped off his day with an inning-ending double play with a runner in scoring position in the fifth inning.
