Preview: Four-Game Series on Deck Against Lock Haven for Pioneer Baseball

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Baseball is scheduled to return to the Sue Morris Sports Complex this weekend, hosting another PSAC opponent in Lock Haven. The Pioneers are scheduled for doubleheaders on both Saturday (Feb. 22) and Sunday (Feb. 23). First pitch for both days is set for 1 p.m.

THE OPPONENT

2025 Season
This season, Lock Haven has started off strong with four victories over Virginia State, bringing their early season record to (4-0).

Head Coach
Heath Stover is in his eighth year at the helm for LHU. Stover has an overall record of (93-159-1) leading the Bald Eagles and is coming off an (11-34) season in 2024.

Quick Look at The Bald Eagles
Offensively, Nathan Wise is hitting .467 with two home runs and a double and Zachary McElroy is hitting .462 with two doubles and a home run. On the mound, two starters last weekend did not allow an earned run. Jason Labrabor threw four innings of three-hit ball while not allowing a walk and Matt Lingenfelter threw fiver innings and striking out four.

2025 Season
Head coach Jimmy Mullins team is coming off a series win to begin the year, as their pitching staff led them this past weekend to a (2-1) record. 

Quick Look at The Pioneers
On the mound, Nathan Farmer earned MEC Pitcher of the Week honors for his performance against Clarion. Farmer threw five innings, allowing just three hits and one earned while striking out seven. Grant Landis threw four innings of scoreless ball while striking out four and just allowing one walk. True freshman Trent Taylor was effective out of the bullpen, throwing three innings and not allowing a run. Cole Grady gave the Pioneers length in his last start, throwing 6.2 innings and allowing six hits but working around trouble and giving up just two earned runs while senior Austin Corn allowed just one run in four innings of work and struck out three.

Offensively for the Pioneers, Zac Bayor was named the Co-MEC Player of the Week as he started the year off strong by going 5-10 with a double and two home runs while walking three times. Adam Bright is 4-8 with three walks and Colby Guy has been clutch with men on as he has collected four RBIs and is hitting .364.
