Pioneers Drop First Two Games of Series with Mansfield

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Baseball team dropped the first two games of their four-game series with Mansfield earlier today, falling 5-4 in game one and 6-1 in game two.

Game One – GSU 4 | Mansfield 5
A pair of two out singles set up a Cole Serfass three-run home run for Mansfield in the top of the 3rd. The Pioneers added their first runs to the board in the bottom of the 4th, scoring on a fielder's choice and a sac bunt to make it 3-2. The Mountaineers went back up by three runs in the top of the 5th on an error and sac bunt.

Down 5-2, the Pioneers chipped away at the MU lead with an RBI double by Adam Bright in the bottom of the 6th and an Austin Carter RBI single in the 7th. With two outs and two runners in scoring position, the Mountaineers were able to force a groundout to close their 5-4 victory.
