GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Baseball is set to host a four-game set with MEC South foe West Virginia State this weekend (Apr. 12-13) at the Sue Morris Sports Complex. GSU is looking to get back in the race for the Mountain East Conference Tournament as they sit three games back of third place.

The Yellow Jackets are (14-16) overall and (6-8 MEC), coming off a series split with West Virginia Wesleyan last weekend.

Michael Bittinger leads the team in hitting with a .365 average and five doubles while Brodie Guenther is hitting .324 with six doubles and 15 RBIs. Ayden Hodges leads the pitching staff with a 4.18 ERA in 32 innings of work and has also recorded 45 strikeouts. Right behind is JT Fabian with a 4.32 ERA in 33 innings, allowing 16 earned runs and striking out 24.

The Pioneers come in (14-18, 3-11 MEC) after a four-game set at the University of Charleston where the Pioneers had two one-run losses and one two-run loss.

The pitching staff continues to lead the way for GSU as Cole Grady leads the team in innings pitched with 40 while striking out 40 in those innings. Grant Landis has a 4.20 ERA in 30 innings of work with 24 strikeouts. Austin Corn threw five scoreless last time out and has 27 strikeouts in 31 innings of work. Austin Carter has been the leading hitter in conference play with a .368 average and Colby Guy is hitting .359 in league play and has six home runs overall. Zach Laurie has seven doubles and seven home runs, along with 27 RBIs to lead the team.
