FAIRMONT, W.Va. - The Glenville State Softball team's 10-game winning streak came to an end as they split the doubleheader against MEC North leading Fairmont State, winning game one, 9-1, and falling in game two, 8-4. The Pioneers record now stands at (26-13, 16-6 MEC) as the leader of the MEC South Division.
Game One – GSU 9 | FSU 1
Neither team would manage to get on the board in the first inning, however the Pioneers erupted for four runs in the second frame. The Falcons answered by scoring one run to cut the Pioneers lead to three but in the third inning, GSU plated two more runs via a Kylee Goodman home run and Monica Rodelo RBI single, pushing the advantage to 6-1. The Falcons couldn't manage to get anything going offensively on another strong outing from Kylie Burdick as the Pioneers notched one more run to their lead in the sixth inning and two runs in the seventh inning to bury the Falcons even more, taking the 9-1 win in the first game of the day.

Alexa Andrews led the Falcons by scoring their only run in game one and having one of the teams three total hits. Caitlin Morey picked up the loss after pitching two innings and allowing five hits and five runs.
Glenville State
Monica Rodelo led the Pioneers in hits with three and Emma McLean led the team in RBIs with four. Kylie Burdick picked up the win after pitching all seven innings, striking out three and allowing only three hits and no runs.
Game Two – GSU 4 | FSU 8
The Pioneers kicked the second game of the day off right where they left off with an early run in the first inning. However, FSU looked like they were trying to turn the tide on the Pioneers, scoring two runs in the bottom half of the first stanza. The Falcons refused to let the Pioneers back into the game as they plated three in the second inning to make it 5-1. The Pioneers would trim their deficit on a Shelby McDaniels solo shot before the Falcons managed to score again to get their lead back to four runs in the fourth inning. The Pioneers deficit grew even more as Fairmont State added two runs in the fifth inning, putting it nearly out of reach at 8-2. A late surge by the GSU bats in the seventh made it an 8-4 game, but the Falcons kept GSU at bay to secure the doubleheader split.

Alexa Foresha and Abbie Keilholz both recorded two hits in the victory while Foresha and Emma Paul led the team in RBIs with two apiece. Delaney Haller would take the win after pitching all seven innings, striking out two and allowing three hits. The 2024 MEC Freshman of the Year improved her 2025 record to (15-0).
Glenville State
Three different Pioneers combined for the three hits on the day with Shelby McDaniels having the only RBI on her solo home run. Meghan Stump took the loss after pitching just 1.1 innings and surrendering three runs.
