GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Softball team extended their win streak to seven with a doubleheader sweep over Wheeling today, winning game one, 1-0, and taking game two, 5-4. Head Coach Sara Scoone notched her 100th win at the helm of the Pioneers as GSU improved to (23-12, 13-5 MEC) on the year.
Game One – GSU 1 | WHL 0
In the first game of the day, the visitors and Glenville State started off slowly offensively. It wouldn't be until the bottom of the fifth inning that a team would score a run. This is when the Pioneers would get on the board thanks to a solo home run from Emma McLean. The home run proved to be vital, being the only run scored of the game as Kylie Burdick took care of business in the seventh inning, securing the 1-0 victory.

Six different players had one hit apiece for the Cardinals. Kaylin Shields picked up the loss after pitching six innings and striking out five batters while only allowing two hits.
Glenville State
Delaney Warnick and Emma McLean would have the only hits for the Pioneers with McLean's home run notching her the lone RBI. Kylie Burdick picked up the win after pitching all seven innings, striking out seven and allowing six hits and no runs.
Game Two – GSU 5 | WHL 4
In game two, the Cardinals plated one run in the first inning to take the early lead. Wheeling strengthened their lead in the third inning by scoring another run to grow their advantage. The Pioneer offense got going in the bottom half of the third, tying the game up at 2-2. Not too long after, WU took the lead back with anotehr two runs in the top of the fifth inning. Addison Aguiniga sent one out of the ballpark to cut the deficit down to one before Delaney Warnick hit a two-run home run to give GSU the late lead. AndiJo Howard held Wheeling scoreless in the final frames as Glenville State completed the sweep, 5-4.

Amber Morgan had two hits and scored three runs for the Cardinals while Brooklyn Sanders had two hits and three RBIs for the Cardinals. Maria Clark would take the loss after pitching 4.2 innings, striking out one and giving up six hits and five runs.
Glenville State
Makenna Negley and Addison Aguiniga led the Pioneers in hits with two apiece and Delaney Warnick led the team in RBIs with two. AndiJo Howard was awarded the win after pitching 2.2 innings of relief, in which she struck out three and only allowed one hit.
