GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The Glenville State Softball team two handled business today at Concord, winning the first game, 8-0, in five innings and the second game, 8-3, to increase their win streak to nine games and improve their record to (25-12, 15-5 MEC).
Game One – GSU 8 | CU 0 (5 Inn.)
The Pioneers started off hot in the first stanza, scoring their first run off of a single from Delaney Warnick. In the same inning, Makenna Negley hit a three-run hoem run to stretch the advantage to four. In the top of the third inning, Glenville State erupted for another four runs, increasing their advantage to 8-0. The pitching from ace Kylie Burdick held Concord scoreless for the remainder of the game, allowing GSU to once again win via the run rule, 8-0 in five innings.

Courtney Raines and Morgan Gleason had the only two hits for the Mountain Lions in game one. Madison Hollis picked up the loss after pitching 0.1 innings and allowing five hits and four runs.
Glenville State
Delaney Warnick and Makenna Negley led the Pioneers in hits with two apiece and runs scored with two runs each, while Negley also led the team in RBIs with three on her home run. Kylie Burdick picked up the win after pitching all five innings, striking out two and allowing only two hits and no runs.
Game Two – GSU 8 | CU 3
In game two, the Mountain Lions would turn the tide by hitting a home run in the first inning to take an early lead. The following inning, the Pioneers tied the game up off of a single from Hannah Howe. In the same stanza, the Pioneers gave the Mountain Lions some deja vu after Emma McLean blasted a three-run home run to give GSU the lead. A run by Concord in the third inning cut the deficit to just two, however, Monica Rodelo hit a home run of her own in the following inning to get the Pioneers lead back to three runs. Glenville State would keep the pressure on the Mountain Lions in the fifth inning by plating three more, making it 8-2. A late run by Concord wasn't enough to start a comeback as GSU notched their ninth victory in a row, 8-3.

Three different Mountain Lions had a hit in game two while Mahailey Nicholson took the loss after pitching 4.1 innings, striking out one and walking three.
Glenville State
Makenna Negley and Emma McLean led the Pioneers in hits with two apiece and McLean would also lead the team in RBIs with three. AndiJo Howard was awarded the win after pitching all seven innings, in which she struck out three and only allowed three hits.
