GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Baseball enters their final weekend of the regular season against Concord this Saturday (May 3) and Sunday (May 4). The Pioneers are currently tied for third place in the MEC South and are one game behind West Virginia State for second. The top three teams will advance to the Mountain East Conference Tournament next week in Charleston.

The Mountain Lions are (23-23) overall and (14-12) in league play, coming off a series with UC where they lost three out of four.

The leading hitter for Concord is Matthew DiSanti, hitting .419 with 33 runs scored in 46 games. Kaden Swaim has 13 home runs on the year, Nick DiSanti is hitting .353 while MJ Hunter is swinging it at a .345 clip and Austin Hear is at .322 with nine home runs. On the mound, Zach Powell has started 11 games and has a 5.85 ERA with Jake Robinson starting eight games and producing a 6.14 ERA.

The pitching staff has led the Pioneers over the past few weeks as Grant Landis leads the team with a 2.94 ERA, only allowing 16 runs in 49 innings, while Cole Grady has a 3.67 ERA in 54 innings and has only allowed 22 runs and struck out 49 batters. Trent Taylor is (6-0) as a starter and has also recorded two saves out of the bullpen. Zac Bayor is leading the team in hitting with a .350 average and eight home runs, Lance Minson is hitting .333 with five home runs and 10 doubles, Austin Carter has a .325 average with 21 RBIs, Colby Guy is swinging it at .310 with nine home runs and Zach Laurie is batting .309 with nine home runs and 37 RBIs.
