THE OPPONENTS
WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
2025 Season
The Bobcats (2-2-1, 1-2 MEC) have alternated results early in 2025, highlighted by a 2-1 victory at Davis & Elkins and a scoreless draw with Pitt–Johnstown. Wesleyan has also notched a non-conference win over California (Pa.), but fell in league play to Concord and West Virginia State.
Quick Look at The Bobcats
The Bobcats and Pioneers share a couple of common results. Wesleyan dropped 4-2 at Concord, while Glenville fell 4-0 to the Mountain Lions. Against West Virginia State, the Bobcats were blanked 4-0, while Glenville stayed within reach before falling 3-1. Wednesday's matchup will give the Pioneers a direct test against a team navigating similar early-season challenges.
DAVIS & ELKINS
2025 Season
The Senators (0-3-2, 0-2-1 MEC) are still searching for their first win of the season, but their defense stood tall in a scoreless draw against Concord last weekend. Goalkeeper Gabriela Acevedo posted nine saves in that match, including multiple diving stops late in regulation. D&E has also fallen in league play to Charleston and West Virginia Wesleyan.
Quick Look at The Senators
Like the Pioneers, the Senators have faced Concord this season. D&E dropped a close 2-1 decision to Wesleyan and battled Concord to a 0-0 draw. Glenville fell 4-0 to the Mountain Lions, so Sunday's matchup offers a chance for the Pioneers to show growth against a common opponent.
THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2025 Season
The Pioneers (0-5, 0-3 MEC) put together one of their strongest performances of the season in their home opener against Charleston, outshooting the Golden Eagles 13-6 but ultimately falling 1-0 on a first-half set piece. Lucia Lopez made three saves in net, while the Pioneers generated consistent offensive pressure across both halves..
Quick Look at The Pioneers
Though still searching for their first win, Glenville has shown improvements in possession and chance creation. The Pioneers will look to build on their home effort against UC and turn that momentum into points this week with one game at Morris Stadium and another on the road.
