GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Baseball returns home this weekend as the Pioneers host Point Park on Saturday (Mar. 21) and Salem on Sunday (Mar. 22) for a pair of Mountain East Conference doubleheaders at the Sue Morris Sports Complex.

THE OPPONENTS
POINT PARK
2026 Season
The Pioneers enter the weekend with an (8-6) overall record and a (3-1) mark in Mountain East Conference play. Point Park opened the season at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, picking up wins over Dominican (N.Y.) and Pace before finishing the event with a loss to Wilmington (Del.).
Point Park later traveled to Florida for the Russmatt Tournament, where they split games with Barry, Malone, Saint Michael's and Minnesota Crookston. Most recently, the Pioneers swept West Virginia Wesleyan in a conference doubleheader before splitting another MEC twin bill with Davis & Elkins, defeating the Senators 12-3 in the second game.

Olindo Pezzone has been the most dangerous bat in the Point Park lineup so far this season, hitting .414 with five home runs and 13 RBIs while posting a 1.000 slugging percentage. Felix Rodriguez is batting .313 with 12 RBIs and carries an impressive .500 on-base percentage, while Trevor Jones has added power to the lineup with three home runs and a team-leading 14 RBIs. Carlos de la Vega has provided consistent contact for the Pioneers, hitting .295 and leading the team with six doubles, while Blake Ewing has delivered extra-base power with four home runs and a .575 slugging percentage. Chris Williams has also been active on the bases, swiping nine stolen bases this season.
On the mound, Ramon Rodriguez leads the Point Park pitching staff with a 2.37 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 19.0 innings pitched, while Ethan Parker owns a 1.96 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 18.1 innings. Camden Dimidjian has also been a reliable starter with a 3.79 ERA and 17 strikeouts. Additionally, Harold Boyce holds a (2-1) record while limiting opponents to a .164 batting average.
SALEM
2026 Season
Salem comes in with a (14-7) overall record after opening the season with a three-game road series at UNC Pembroke. The Tigers rebounded from that opening weekend by winning six straight games, sweeping Lake Erie and Clarion in a pair of early-season series at Frank Loria Memorial Field.
Salem has continued to find success throughout the month of March, earning wins over California (Pa.), Illinois Springfield, and Lock Haven. Most recently, the Tigers won three out of four games against Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan, including a 10-0 shutout victory over the Senators. Salem has been particularly strong at home this season with a 13-3 record at Frank Loria Memorial Field, while their matchup with Glenville State will mark their first Mountain East Conference contest of the year.

Salem has produced a strong offensive start to the 2026 season, led by Cody Thomas, who is batting .390 with 23 hits through the first 21 games of the year. Reese Rinna has provided power in the middle of the lineup, hitting .356 with three home runs and a team-leading 23 RBIs while posting a .627 slugging percentage. Brandon Hoftijzer has also been a key contributor offensively, batting .347 with a team-high 10 doubles and 20 RBIs, while Aaron Forbes is hitting .329 with two home runs and 17 RBIs. Landon McAlpine adds another consistent bat at .300 and Joe Wintermute has been active on the bases with 10 stolen bases this season.
The Tigers pitching staff is headlined by Conor Thiele, who leads the team with a (4-1) record and a 2.10 ERA across 34.1 innings pitched. Jackson Thoma has also been impressive, posting a 2.40 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 15.0 innings, while Richie Preston holds a 2.50 ERA with 17 strikeouts and a save. Brian Kendall leads the Tigers in strikeouts among starters with 26 in 28.1 innings as Andrew George and Aiden Eddy have both provided solid work out of the bullpen.

GLENVILLE STATE
2026 Season
The Pioneers are (12-8) overall and (1-3) in Mountain East Conference play after opening conference action last weekend against Fairmont State and Frostburg State. Glenville State split its doubleheader with Fairmont State before dropping both games to Frostburg State on Sunday. Prior to conference play, the Pioneers built strong momentum with a series sweep of Lake Erie earlier this month at the Sue Morris Sports Complex. Glenville State has been especially strong at home this season, posting a (10-2) mark in Glenville.

Glenville State has received production throughout the lineup this season, highlighted by Jetsel Cajigas-Martinez, who is batting .340 with nine doubles, two triples and a home run while also swiping 11 bases. Jacob Meadows has also been a steady presence at the plate with a .340 batting average and Adam Bright leads the team with 16 RBIs. Power has come from several spots in the order as well. Colby Guy leads the Pioneers with four home runs, while Austin Carter has added two home runs and a team-high 17 runs scored. Greyson McNeill continues to contribute in the middle of the lineup with 11 RBIs as Ashton Crace has been extremely productive in limited appearances, hitting .526 with five doubles and a home run.
William Chu has been the most effective arm for the Pioneers, posting a 1.27 ERA and a .94 WHIP across 21.1 innings pitched. Zach Dellerman has anchored the starting rotation with a (3-1) record and 17 strikeouts in 24.1 innings,. Grant Landis has limited hitters to a .184 batting average while recording 16 strikeouts in 24.1 innings. Out of the bullpen, Ashton Crace holds a 1.86 ERA with a save and Anthony Ruiz has been another reliable option in relief with a 2.00 ERA across eight appearances.
