THE OPPONENT
WEST LIBERTY
2026 Season
West Liberty enters the weekend at (6-10) overall and (5-3) in MEC play as they continue to look for rhythm early in Mountain East Conference play. The Hilltoppers have shown flashes offensively throughout the season but have struggled to consistently put together complete performances, particularly on the mound.

Quick Look at The Hilltoppers
Offensively, West Liberty is led by one of the hottest hitters in the conference in Hunter White, who is batting .431 with four home runs and a .707 slugging percentage. Evan Tice (.372 AVG) and Aaron Flowers (.320 AVG) provide additional support at the top of the lineup, while Luke Marsh and Giacomo Dolce have contributed to run production. As a team, the Hilltoppers are hitting .285, but their pitching staff has faced challenges, carrying an 8.93 ERA and allowing opponents to hit .305. John Thompson (3-2, 4.09 ERA) has been their most consistent arm with Garrett Comer being effective in limited appearances with a 2.25 ERA.

WHEELING
2026 Season
Wheeling comes into the weekend as one of the top teams in the MEC with a (17-6) overall record and (6-2) mark in conference play. The Cardinals have been strong on both sides of the ball, combining a high-powered offense with steady pitching to establish themselves as a contender early in the conference schedule.

Quick Look at The Cardinals
The Cardinals boast one of the most productive lineups in the conference, hitting .325 as a team with 19 home runs. Edward Mateo leads the offense with a .429 average and 18 stolen bases, while Luke Meyer (.382 AVG, 4 HR) and Gavin Millians (.350 AVG, 23 RBI) anchor the middle of the order. Nicholas Schulz and Brett Johnson add depth throughout the lineup, making Wheeling difficult to pitch against top to bottom. On the mound, the Cardinals hold a 4.68 team ERA and limit opponents to a .240 batting average. Sebastian Khan (4-1, 1.93 ERA) leads the rotation and Brock Elliott (1.64 ERA, 4 saves) has been dominant out of the bullpen.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2026 Season
Glenville State enters the weekend at (13-11) overall and (2-4) in MEC play following a split with Point Park and a pair of losses to Salem. The Pioneers have shown the ability to compete in tight games throughout the season but will look to build consistency as conference play continues on the road.

Quick Look at The Pioneers
The Pioneer offense continues to rely on a balanced approach throughout the lineup. Jacob Meadows leads the team with a .357 average and has consistently set the tone at the top, while Jetsel Cajigas-Martinez adds a dynamic element with 10 doubles and 12 stolen bases. Colby Guy has emerged as the primary power threat with seven home runs and a .608 slugging percentage, including a strong performance at the plate last weekend. Adam Bright and Greyson McNeill provide steady production in the middle of the lineup, while Ashton Crace has been one of the most efficient hitters on the team, batting .423 in limited opportunities. On the mound, Zach Dellerman (4-1, 2.20 ERA) and Grant Landis (3.64 ERA, .179 B/AVG) lead the rotation, while William Chu (1.57 ERA) and Ashton Crace (1.69 ERA, 2 saves) have been key contributors in relief. The Pioneers will look for continued consistency from the pitching staff as they head into another important MEC weekend.
