THE OPPONENT
CHARLESTON
2026 Season
Charleston enters the weekend with an (8-21) overall record and a (5-5) mark in Mountain East Conference play, showing a much stronger presence within conference competition compared to early non-conference struggles. The Golden Eagles opened the season against tough regional opponents and faced challenges on the road, but have found more consistency in MEC play, splitting series and picking up key wins against Wheeling, Fairmont State, and Point Park. Charleston has been competitive in conference games, with many close contests that have come down to late innings. Despite a recent losing streak, they remain a dangerous team capable of putting together strong offensive performances and responding quickly.

Quick Look at The Golden Eagles
Charleston's offense is led by Samuel Lemond, who is hitting .322 with power and extra-base ability, making him one of the top hitters in the lineup. Trent Dosenbach and Andrew Kobryn add consistency, while multiple players contribute to a lineup that can produce runs throughout the order. The Golden Eagles also apply pressure on the basepaths, with several players capable of creating scoring opportunities through aggressive baserunning.

On the mound, Breven Deckrosh has been a steady presence with a 2.45 ERA, leading a staff that features depth and multiple arms capable of keeping games within reach. While the pitching staff has had its ups and downs, Charleston has shown the ability to stay competitive and limit damage when needed.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2026 Season
Glenville State enters the weekend at (14-14) overall and (3-7) in Mountain East Conference play, looking to build momentum after a challenging stretch in conference action. The Pioneers opened the season strong, winning 10 of their first 13 games and establishing themselves as one of the more explosive offensive teams early in the year. Since then, conference play has tested that momentum, but Glenville has remained competitive, including a split at West Liberty and several tightly contested games on the road. Returning home to the Sue Morris Sports Complex, where they have seen the most success this season, the Pioneers will look to reset and gain ground in the MEC standings.

Quick Look at The Pioneers
The Pioneers are led offensively by Jetsel Cajigas-Martinez and Jacob Meadows at the top of the lineup. Cajigas-Martinez has been one of the most dynamic players in the conference, combining extra-base power with speed, while Meadows continues to provide consistency and strong contact. Colby Guy anchors the lineup with a team-high seven home runs and remains a key run producer in the middle of the order. Ashton Crace has also made a major impact, hitting over .400 while delivering in key moments, and Adam Bright and Greyson McNeill add depth to a lineup capable of generating offense in multiple ways.

On the mound, Zach Dellerman has been the most consistent arm for the Pioneers with a 2.20 ERA, while Grant Landis has provided quality innings as a starter. The bullpen, featuring William Chu and Ashton Crace, has shown the ability to keep games close and finish late.
