THE OPPONENT
CONCORD
2026 Season
Concord enters the weekend at (22-24, 16-10 MEC), sitting tied for first place in the MEC South Division. Despite being below .500 overall, the Mountain Lions have been one of the more consistent teams in conference play, finding ways to win games behind a high-powered offense. With the division title still up for grabs, Concord will look to defend its spot at the top against a surging Glenville State squad.

Quick Look at The Mountain Lions
Offensively, Concord is one of the most dangerous lineups in the MEC, consistently putting pressure on opposing pitching with a strong mix of contact and power. The Mountain Lions feature multiple hitters capable of driving the ball and getting on base, allowing them to generate runs in bunches and stay competitive in high-scoring games. On the mound, Concord has had more inconsistency, particularly in limiting runs late in games. While the front end of the rotation has provided stability at times, the staff as a whole has been prone to giving up big innings, which has led to a number of close losses throughout the season.

THE PIONEERS
GLENVILLE STATE
2026 Season
Glenville State enters the weekend at (26-18) overall and (15-11) in MEC play, riding a nine-game winning streak and sitting just one game back of first place in the South Division. After sweeping Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan in back-to-back series, the Pioneers have positioned themselves with an opportunity to make a late push for the division title heading into the postseason.

Quick Look at The Pioneers
The Pioneers continue to showcase a balanced offensive approach, combining timely hitting with the ability to get on base and apply pressure throughout the lineup. Glenville State has multiple hitters contributing at a high level, with production spread across the order rather than relying on just one or two bats. That includes Ashton Crace's .438 average, Colby Guy's eight home runs and Adam Bright's 31 RBIs. The lineup has shown the ability to score in multiple ways, whether through extra-base hits, situational hitting, or aggressive baserunning.

On the mound, Glenville State has taken a step forward as the season has progressed, developing into a more consistent and reliable staff. The Pioneers are anchored by a strong front end of the rotation and supported by a bullpen that has improved during the recent winning streak. When limiting walks and avoiding big innings, Glenville State has proven capable of controlling games and closing out opponents. Zach Dellerman is atop the team lead in ERA (2.02) and wins (8) while also striking out 56 over 62.1 innings. Grant Landis lowered his ERA down to 3.20 over the weekend and improved his record to (4-1). Trent Taylor had an impressive complete game shutout, where he struck out 11 and picked up his third win of 2026.
