In what would be defensive slugfest, Charleston scored the deciding one run in the bottom of the 4

Saturday (Apr. 4)
Game One – GSU 6 | West Virginia State 2
Saturday was a completely different day for the Pioneers offensively, opening the scoring in the second inning with four runs on a hit by pitch, two-RBI single from
Zailees Seda and an error by the Yellow Jackets defense.
Kylee Goodman extended the lead in the 3
rd inning before
Delaney Warnick had an RBI of her own in the fourth inning to make it 6-0. WVSU threatened in the seventh, scoring two runs but
Kylie Burdick shut the door for a 6-2 Glenville State victory.
Game Two – GSU 7 | West Virginia State 1
A two-run bomb from
Delaney Warnick once again gave the Pioneers an early advantage, however West Virginia State trimmed the deficit to just one run in the bottom of the of the second by stealing home. In the top of the 4
th,
Hannah Howe and
Lillian Burns logged RBIs to put GSU up, 4-1. Goodman and
Shelby McDaniels added three runs of insurance in the top of the 7
