Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneer baseball team dropped a double-header on the road Friday afternoon at the University of Charleston.
In the first game of the double-header the Golden Eagles took a 2-0 lead over GSC in the first inning. UC then added two more runs in the third as they held a 4-0 lead over the Pioneers.
Glenville State got on the scoreboard in the seventh as
Kyle Johnston hit an RBI single scoring
Isaiah Moss but it wasn't enough as they fell 4-1 in game one.
The Pioneers finished with eight hits and committed one error while UC had nine hits in the game.
Kyle Johnston had a great game as he went 3-for-3 with an RBI while
John Peloro went 2-for-4.
Brady Wilkinson pitched 6.0 innings allowing nine hits, four runs, and struck out four batters.
GSC took the early lead in game two in the third as
Logan Henderson doubled scoring
Jordan Braniff and
Bryan Bayliss singled scoring
Logan Henderson as they went up 2-0. The Pioneers added another run in the fourth as
Zach Sanford scored putting GSC up 3-0.
UC would tie the game up at 3-3 in the fourth inning. GSC would respond in the sixth as

Tanner Helms putting the Pioneers up 4-3.
John Peloro then hit a sac fly scoring
Christian Hedinger in the seventh as GSC led 5-3.
The Golden Eagles then scored four runs in the eighth as they went on to defeat GSC in the game two 7-5.
Glenville State finished with six hits while giving up seven hits to the Golden Eagles.
Logan Henderson went 2-for-4 with two RBI's while
Tanner Helms,
Zach Bacon,
Kyle Johnston, and
Bryan Bayliss all had a hit.
Wesley Stauffer pitched 4.1 innings allowing four hits, four runs, and three strike outs.
Glenville State (10-21, 7-11) will take on the Golden Eagles again tomorrow Saturday, April 15
th in a double-header at 1:00 p.m.
