Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneer baseball team suffered a tough road loss on Wednesday afternoon to the Alderson Broaddus Battlers.
Glenville State jumped out to the early lead in the first inning as
John Peloro doubled down the right field line which scored
Bryan Bayliss and then
Tanner Helms scored on an error as they took a 2-0 lead.
Alderson Broaddus then took their first lead in the bottom of the first as they led 3-2. AB then added four more runs in the second and never looked back as they went on to score 12 more runs in the game and handed the Pioneers a 19-5 loss.
Glenville State finished with eight hits and committed five errors while Alderson Broaddus racked up 21 hits and committed three errors.
John Peloro went 3-for-3 with an RBI while
Bryan Bayliss went 1-for-2 and scored two runs.
GSC had nine pitchers take part in the game while
Art'om Rank picked up the loss allowing four hits, three runs, and had two strike outs.
Glenville State (7-17, 4-8) will host the Cavaliers of UVa-Wise in a four game series this weekend on Saturday, April 8
th and Sunday, April 9
th at the Sue Morris Sports Complex.
