Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneer baseball team avenged an earlier season loss to Alderson Broaddus University on Wednesday night at home defeating the Battlers 7-5.
Glenville State finished the game with seven hits while giving up nine hits to Alderson Broaddus. The Battlers also committed three errors in the contest.
Kyle Johnston put the Pioneers up 1-0 in the first after being walked with the bases loaded.
Alderson Broaddus took their first lead in the second as they scored three runs as they led 3-1.
The Battlers added another run in the sixth as they led GSC 4-1.
The Pioneers had a great seventh inning as they tied the game up at 4-4. It started as
Tanner Helms scored off of a balk, a
John Peloro single scored
Jordan Braniff, and then
Zach Sanford singled to center as
Logan Henderson crossed the plate.
GSC retook the lead in the eighth as
Tanner Helms singled to left scoring
Logan Henderson and later
Tanner Helms and
Bryan Bayliss scored in the inning off of an error as the Pioneers led 7-4.
Alderson Broaddus would add a run in the ninth inning as they made it 7-5 however
Tanner Helms would take the mound with two runners on base. Helms would get the last two outs for the Pioneers as GSC won 7-5.
John Peloro went 2-for-4 with an RBI while
Logan Henderson went 2-for-4.

Tanner Helms all had an RBI.
Art'om Rank picked up the win on the mound as he pitched 2.2 innings allowing one run on three hits and struck out two batters while
Tanner Helms earned the save.
Glenville State (16-29,10-18) will host the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan this Saturday, May 6
th at 1:00 p.m. in a double-header at the Sue Morris Complex.
