Glenville, W.Va. - The Glenville State College Lady Pioneer Acrobatics & Tumbling team had a great performance as they defeated the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats on Wednesday night.
The Glenville State Lady Pioneers recorded their second highest point total in the history of the program.
The Lady Pioneers did well in the compulsory event with a 34.80 total; outscoring the Bobcats 34.75 compulsory total.
In the acro event, GSC was victorious in both the 5 and 7 element heats. In heat 1, the Lady Pioneers scored a 9.75 and in Heat 3, a 9.40. The Lady Pioneers ended the event with a total of 28.45; topping Wesleyan's 27.60.
The Lady Pioneers performed exceptionally well in the pyramid event scoring a 28.40 with a start value of 29.90. The Bobcats scored a 27.60. Glenville State went into halftime leading Wesleyan 91.65 to 89.95.
GSC won the toss event with a score of 26.15 while WVWC recorded a 25.85.
Before heading into the final event, GSC would claim the tumbling event by just a couple of points with a 49.450 total over the Bobcats' 49.375.
Brianna D'Angelo scored a 9.300 in the Aerial Pass while
Sarah DiSpaltro scored a 9.800 in the Open Pass to solidify the win in the tumbling event.
Glenville State College also took the final event, the team event, scoring a 91.13 while Wesleyan scored 90.97.
The Lady Pioneers took the meet with a final score of 258.380 to the Bobcats final score of 256.145.
Glenville State (4-2) will return to action on Friday, April 6 when they host Georgetown College at 4:00 p.m. on Senior Day.
