Glenville, W.Va. - Opening Day for Glenville Baseball is on Saturday as the Pioneer start their season on the road against Mid-Atlantic Christian University in a three-game series.

GSC was picked to finish fifth in the South Division in the Pre-Season rankings as the Pioneers finished 14-34 on the year and 9-23 in conference action during the 2019 season.
The Pioneers return a strong group as
Tyler Phillips who was tabbed NCBWA Preseason All-Region completing the year .408 on the sticks and .457 on base percentage.
Tre'von Smith finished the 2019 season hitting .345 collecting 51 hits and 21 RBIs.
From the mound, GSC returns
Jose Rodriguez,
Jesse Weathers,
Chase Swain and
Adam Riggleman.
Rodriguez finished the year 4-7 pitching a team high 66 innings, within those inning he maintained a 4.77 ERA allowing for 35 earned runs.
Weathers followed with 58.1 innings pitched maintaining a 5.86 ERA. Swain controlled a 2-3 win/loss count carrying a save on the season.
Riggleman commenced strong start for the Pioneers but missed the second half of the season due to Tommy John surgery and is slated to return to the mound in March.
Baseball is a new program added to Mustang's Athletics and have started the season slow falling to USC Beaufort 6-0. As a team, the Mid-Atlantic began the year off hitting 0.71 with a .212 on base percentage.
