Glenville, W.Va. – Gearing up to debut their 2020-21 roster, GSC baseball will host Ohio Valley University and Salem University in a mid-week clash then travel to Seaton Hill at the end of the week.

Pioneer, Fighting Scotts, Tigers & Griffin Files
Prior to the cancelation of the 2020 season from the frenetic COVID-19 novel, the Blue and White held a 10-6 overall record including a 2-1 victory over ranked Mercyhusrt University.
Glenville State also picked up three wins in walk-off fashion in two home openers against Jefferson University and Bluefield State College.
Ohio Valley University was cut last season with a 3-10 overall though defeating the Pioneers 7-5 in a full nine inning matchup. The Fighting Scotts return two key players, Jake Blevins who lead OVU third with a .244 offensive attack and Ryan Valentine who tallied two wins and 70 total strikeouts.
Salem University enters the contest 0-2 with eight total games named canceled this season. The Tigers fell to Kentucky State University 3-5 and 4-7 this past weekend and will face the University of Charleston prior to the Pioneers and Tigers contest. Key starter to watch is Kasey Buchanan as he hits .500 on the year and Curole Dominic who tallies nine strikeouts with a 0.00 ERA.
Seaton Hill University will open their season against Shippensburg University prior to the Pioneer and Griffin matchup. Last season, SHU fixed a 9-4 overall prior to the beginning of COVID-19 with victories against Coker, Walsh and Winona. The Griffins return Tommy Pellis who averaged .431 in 51 at bats tallying three homeruns and 15 RBIs.

Last season
Duane Englund, Mathew Mangum and
Tyler Phillips each led the Blue and White at the plate tallying 15 hits on the season. Phillips picked up 15 RBIs while hitting four home runs and two doubles.
Tre'von Smith also tallied four homeruns while leading second with a .326 attack at the plate. Smith scored nine RBIs off of 14 hits with five doubles picking up six walks.
Devonte Rose chipped in with 10 hits scoring two RBIs and 11 runs while also going 5-for-5 in stolen bases.
John Peloro and
Shane Talvacchio paired 13 and 12 hits with a .715 and .768 on base plus slugging percentage each chipping in with seven RBIs.
Adam Riggleman will return to the mound for Glenville State after recovering from a Tommy Johns surgery. In 2019, Riggleman maintained a 3.97 ERA giving up just nine hits and pitching 10 strikeouts.
Jesse Weathers sat 3-3 on the season shorting a 1.05 ERA and was runner up for GSC's Male Athlete of the year. On the season, Weathers picked up 34 strikeouts while giving up just four earned runs.
