Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC Pioneer baseball team has a huge showdown this weekend with the Concord University Mountain Lions and a birth to the MEC Baseball Tournament is on the line.

Glenville State (16-17, 12-16) is coming into the matchup after taking three-of-four games from the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan.
The Pioneers are batting .274 as a team with 252 hits and 29 home runs.
Concord (13-9, 12-16) is coming into the weekend series after splitting four games with the University of Charleston.
The Mountain Lions are batting .313 with 288 hits and 27 home runs.
Currently the Pioneers and Mountain Lions are tied for third in the MEC South Division standings and the top three teams make the tournament. For GSC to advance to the MEC Tournament the Pioneers need three wins.

Tre'von Smith leads the team in batting average with a .358 average to go along with six home runs with 33 RBI's.
Matthew Mangum is second with a .291 batting average with 10 RBI's.
Duane Englund leads the team with seven home runs.
Freshman pitcher,
Diego Tamariz leads the team in strike outs with 43 while
Adam Riggleman has 41 strike outs.
Friday is also Senior Day for the Pioneers.
