Indianapolis, Ind. - Glenville State's Wrestling program had a solid showing at the 43rd Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis. The Pioneers placed tied for ninth out of a loaded 43-team field. Coach Cottrell's squad had the highest finish out of any Mountain East Conference school participating in the event. GSU was able to finish higher than Gannon University who was ranked ninth in the last NWCA Rankings.

A total of four Pioneers would make it to the quarterfinals or further at the Midwest Classic. Devin Easton wrestling at the 125 weight class for GSU made it to the quarterfinals before falling to UNCP's Logan Seliga 11-2. In his match to reach the final eight Easton won by pin over Mercyhurst's Billy Smith.

Gavin Quiocho a native of Parkersburg, W.Va. also reached the quarterfinals. After dropping his match the Mercyhurst, Quiocho would go on to win his seventh place match.

Senior Cole Houser placed fifth at the Midwest Classic. With losing his quarterfinal match the highest Houser could place was third. In the fifth-place match the Bellefontaine, Ohio native defeated UPJ's Brock Biddle by decision 7-6.

Jared Campbell had a superb showing at the 43rd Midwest Classic placing second. Campbell was able to produce a dominant run pinning two of his opponents and winning by a major decision in the quarterfinals. However, Campbell would lose a close match in the finals to the University of Central Oklahoma's Shawn Streck 3-2.

Both Gaetano DeLeonardis and Hunter Delong had good showings. DeLeonardis would lose 2-1 in his match to put him in the quarterfinals but won two more in the placement bracket. Delong like Gaetano produced back-to-back wins in the other bracket. Hunter was able to defeat the University of Indianapolis by pin in the first round.

The Pioneers are back in action on January 7th, at the F and M Open.
