GLENVILLE – Glenville's regionally ranked Pioneers split with Lock Haven on Saturday, in games one and two of this weekend's four-game set at the Sue Morris Complex. The visitors claimed Game One 10-2, with Glenville bouncing back to take Game Two 8-2.

In the afternoon's opening contest, the Bald Eagles gained an early lead with a five-run second inning, and held on the for the victory. They received home runs from Joe Shannon and Gabe Stirr to power their strong offensive showing. Mitch Lohr factored in both GSU runs; delivering a sacrifice fly to score Yadiel Agosto with the first Pioneer run, and later scored the second tally himself on an LHU error.

Right hander Diego Tamariz was the story in Game Two, leading the Pioneers to the win with another quality start. He fired a complete game, scattering five hits, allowing two runs, while walking only one. He recorded four strikeouts, running his record to 4-0 on the season.

Like LHU in Game One, Glenville took control early, pushing five runs across in the bottom of the second. A two-run blast from Darius Barton sparked the inning, as the second basemen went two-for-three in the game with three RBI's. Calen Kampes' two-RBI double was also instrumental in the run production.

Glenville is now 11-2 after the split, with Lock Haven remaining square at 6-6. The two teams conclude the series on Sunday, with another doubleheader set at 1:00.
