Preview: Pioneer Men & Women Set for MEC Cross Country Championship

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Cross Country travels to Wheeling tomorrow (Oct. 25) for the 2025 Mountain East Conference Championship at Oglebay Resort. The Pioneers are looking to improve off of last year's impressive finishes where the women placed 5th and the men were 6th.

THE TEAMS
The Pioneers will be joined by MEC schools Concord, Davis & Elkins, Fairmont State, Frostburg State, Point Park, Charleston, West Liberty, West Virginia State, West Virginia Wesleyan and Wheeling

THE PIONEERS
The Pioneers closed their regular season out on Oct. 11 at Carnegie Mellon. Natalie Barr smashed her own school record in the 5k by over a minute while Jenna Barnett improved her second all-time by running 17:42. Katie Hicks and Abby Dixon also moved up into the top 5 all-time list for the Pioneer women.

Nick Pitchford concluded his regular season by running 25:05 in the 8k and is now tied for second all-time. Patrick Reilly is now third all-time by running closely to Pitchford with a time of 25:12 and Jackson Mallet, who is now seventh all-time, with a time of 26;01.
