GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Glenville State Wrestling team is tabbed 5
th nationally and six Pioneers are ranked in The Open Mat Preseason National Rankings ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The Pioneers, who spent the whole season ranked last year, come in at No. 5 according to The Open Mat after being ranked 8
th in the NWCA Preseason Top 25. Glenville State is currently behind powerhouses Nebraska-Kearney, Lander, Pitt-Johnstown and St. Cloud State. The Pioneers will see Lander and St. Cloud State later in the season.
Six Pioneers are individually ranked heading into the new season, with five of the six landing inside the top 10 and three inside the top five. GSU saw four grapplers land on the NWCA Preseason Poll as well.
