INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The nationally ranked Glenville State Wrestling team finished 8
th out of 47 squads and saw two individuals win championships at the 46
th Annual Midwest Classic in Indianapolis on Sunday (Dec. 14).
Ethan Hardy (141) and
Nick Johnson (197) were both crowned individual champions in their respective weight classes, as Hardy went (6-0) with six decisive victories and Johnson tabbed a (5-0) record after receiving a first-round bye. Johnson pinned his opening round opponent and logged a major decision late in the tournament as well.
Colton Drousias placed 8
th for Glenville State at 125 pounds, helping the Pioneers score more points for the team ranking. Drousias went (3-3), including a tech fall victory in his opening match.
Colby Whitehill (285) dropped his final two matches but still managed a (3-2) record with two pinfall wins to his belt.
Zachary Parker (133),
Gabe Onorato (149),
Jimmie Bailes (157),
David Pento (165) and
Max Borton (184) all closed out the weekend with (2-2) records.
