GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State Wrestling will do battle at this weekend's Virginia Duals inside the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Va., as the 10
th ranked Pioneers are eyeing a successful two-day drip down south.
The 2026 edition of the Virginia Duals will be the 45
th time the event has taken place, with over 60 total teams (high school and college) partaking in the wrestling spectacle. Glenville State will open the 16-team collegiate tournament with Johns Hopkins, as the Pioneers enter the dual tournament as the number one seed.
"I just want us to be dominant," said Head Coach
Dylan Cottrell on the Pioneer Coaches Show. "We're the number one seed, so go be the number one seed."
Cottrell is taking 20 Pioneers to make up the 10-man lineup, so mixing and matching will once again be a theme for the sixth-year head coach. "We want to wrestle as close to a full lineup as we can this weekend at Virginia Duals and I'm really excited about it."
A win in the first round would move the Pioneers onto the second round with a matchup against either Averett or Centenary. With at least one win on Friday, the Pioneers would advance to compete on Saturday as well.
Wrestling inside the Hampton Coliseum will begin at 9 a.m. and fans can follow the action at FloWrestling.org
