Glenville, W.Va. - The GSC Pioneer baseball team dropped the third game to the Lenoir Rhyne Bears on Sunday afternoon falling 12-6.
The Bears would stirke first in the bottom of the first as they scored one run to a a 1-0 lead. The Pioneers tied the game up at 1-1 in the top of the third inning.
Lenoir Rhyne added three runs in the bottom of the third inning and three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning as they held a 7-1 lead.
Glenville State would score four runs in the top of the seventh inning but it wouldn't be enough as Lenoir Rhyne went on to take the third game of the series 12-6.
The Pioneers had five runs and committed three errors in the game.
Tanner Helms had another good day as he went 2-for-4 with five RBI's and scored two runs.
John Peloro,
Kyle Johnston, and
Jordan Braniff all had hits in the game.
Wesley Stauffer pitched 5.0 innings allowing 11 hits, seven runs, and had two strike outs.
Glenville State (0-3) returns to action next weekend on Saturday, February 11th and Sunday, February 12th as they travel to Barton College for a four game series.
