Following the preliminary matches, Glenville State had nine of their 10 wrestlers in line to square off for a championship. Gavin Shamblin didn't wrestle for a championship but still took 3rd place in the heavyweight (285) division. Hunter Ross kicked off the championship matches with an 11-2 victory over West Liberty's Alexander Crane in the 125-pound class. Following Ross, defending national champion Gavin Quiocho secured a MEC title in the 133-pound division with an 8-3 win. Sean Johnson took 2nd place in the 141-pound championship match and Ethan Hardy also took 2nd in the 149-pound class.

In the 157-pound division, Gaetano DeLeonardis was crowned champion after beating Notre Dame College's Matthew Kaufmann 19-4. Brady Ross had the most exciting match of the day, going to overtime with West Liberty's Alec Cook and eventually gaining the upper hand to take home the championship in the 165-pound class. Isaiha Casto secured the Pioneers fifth and final individual championship in the 174-pound class over West Liberty's Christian Chavez, 12-3. Drake De La Cruz (184) and Nick Johnson (197) both took 2nd place to finish out the day for Glenville State.

This is Glenville State's first MEC Championship in Wrestling since the program was created during the 2020-21 season. Truly a remarkable feat for Head Coach Dylan Cottrell and the GSU Wrestling program.
