Name: A.F. "Nate" Rohrbough, Coach
A.F. "Nate" Rohrbough, inducted posthumously, was a graduate of Buckhannon High School and West Virginia University. He is a coaching legend. Following his playing days with the Mountaineers, Rohrbough coached at Glenville from 1926 to 1946 where his basketball teams won 304 games while losing only 58. His football teams were highly successful also, compiling a 65-25-13 record. Nate was elected to the West Virginia Sports Writer's Hall of Fame in 1964 and was named one of the WVIAC's All Time Coaches. Rohrbough achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserves and finished his career with the Veterans Administration, retiring in 1970. GSC's field in Brooklyn was named for him. He is survived by two sons, John Davis Rohrbough and William P. Sargent, and four grandchildren. Rohrbough's wife, Phyllis Davis Rohrbough, passed away in 1999.
