Jim Frashier, a Ripley native, competed in football during his days at Glenville State College. This 1969 First Team All-American middle guard is considered by many as the greatest lineman to play during the Hanlin era. Following an All-WVIAC career which also included selection as MVP in the Fish Bowl, Jim was selected as GSC's Montrose Award winner in the fall of 1969. He went on to a teaching and coaching career at Pennsboro and Ripley High Schools and was selected to the Mid-Ohio Valley Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. Jim and his wife, Jennie, have three children, Jimmy '90, Josie, and Justin, and two grandchildren.
