Don Bullett, a Martinsburg, WV native, lettered in Basketball four years and in track his senior year. He was named to the 1980 ALL Tournament Team; the 1981 and 1982 ALL WVIAC First Teams; and was ALL Conference NAIA in 1981 and 1982. During the summer of 1981, Bullett was chosen to play on the Select Team to Australia, being one of the only two players selected from West Virginia to participate. He graduated from Glenville State College in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching, major - Physical Education (K-12), minor - Safety Education. Bullett had 1865 career points. These points were before the point rule was instated. He raked up 40 points in GSC's game against Davis & Elkins when Hall of Fame Inaugural Inductee and legendary Coach Jesse R. Lilly, Jr. celebrated his 250th career win. Bullett received the coveted Frank Montrose award after graduating from GSC. He taught Health for seven years and Physical Education for 24 years at Martinsburg South Middle School and coached during this time at Martinsburg High School. His coaching duties at Martinsburg High School included being Head Varsity Girl's Basketball Coach, 1983-2004; Assistant Boy's Varsity Basketball Coach, 1983-1985 and 1997-2208; Head Freshman Boy's Basketball Coach 1986-1993; and Assistant Head Varsity Track Coach, 1998-2007. Bullett's coaching and teaching honors where many during his time in Martinsburg. He received the ACE Award as he school's most caring educator; the Regional Girl's Coach of the Year Award in 1990-1991; was selected Head Coach of the North West Virginia All-Stars team in 1992; Hagerstown Herald Coach of the Year in 1996; Head Coach Journal Classic All-Stars in 2002; and the West Virginia Coach of the Year on TV Channel 25 Alive in 2003. His Head Varsity Girl's Basketball Team record 323 wins, 127 losses at Martinsburg High School boasts a 72% winning record. These wins include 14 sectional and regional championships. Many of his students athlete players continued to play basketball at the college level at various colleges and university including: University of Maryland, University of Rhode Island, James Madison University, West Liberty College, Shepherd College; Hagerstown Community NC College; Garrett Community College; Hagerstown Community, Fairmont State College, Davis & Elkins College, and Glenville State College. Bullett currently teaches Physical Education and serves as Head Varsity Boy's Basketball coach at Washington High School in Charles Town, WV, positions he has held since 2008. Bullett and his wife Traci Carter reside in Kearneysville, WV. They have have one daughter, Dawn.
