Name: Bob Armstrong, Athlete
Class of: 1942
Bob Armstrong a native of Warren, OH, lettered in basketball at Glenville. In his freshman year, Bob was sixth man on the team and the next three years, a starter and team leader. He competed for the legendary Coach Nate Rohrbough and was team co-captain during his junior and senior years. His team was Three Time First Team All Conference, twice competing at the National Tournament in Kansas City, winning third place one year and second place the other. Bob was Two Time All Conference in 1941 and 1942. Additionally, he was named All Tournament in 1942 and named to the 50 Year All Time All Conference (WVIAC) Team. Bob received a master's degree from Kent State University, taught and coached in high schools for awhile then worked in the insurance business and owned a private business in real estate until his retirement in 1998. He is a veteran of World War II and spent eighteen months oversees in Counter Intelligence. Bob died in 2009. He is survived by his widow, Phyllis, and their three daughters, Robyn Moronti, Pat Frank, and Leslie Post.
