Tammy Spence, a native of Belpre, Ohio is Ninth on GSC’s All-Time Scoring List with 1,488 points (12.5 points per game which was Fourth at the time of her graduation); First on GSC’s All-Time Rebounding List with 1,052 rebounds (8.8 rebounds per game) and 20th on GSC’s All-Time steals list with 156 which was 17th at the time of her graduation.  She is the ONLY player in Lady Pioneer Basketball history to achieve BOTH 1,000 plus points and rebounds in her playing career. 
 
Spence was a four year starter for the Lady Pioneers and Co-Captain of the 2001-2002 squad; also a Four-Time All-WVIAC/West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Performer:

  • 2000-2001 Honorable Mention
  • 2001-2002 1st Team

She was Freshman of the Year in 1998-1999; Four-Time All-WVIAC Tournament Team (first in program’s history); Daktronics 2nd team All-East Region in 2001-2002 and East Region All-Tournament Team in 2002.

Spence played on GSC’s first ladies golf team under Coach Dennis Fitzpatrick ’73 and having graduated from Glenville State College in December 2012, she served as Student Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach on the 2002-2003 squad.
 
Tammy was the 2003 Clarissa Williams Award winner during Homecoming 2003. 
 
Spence was Assistant Basketball Coach and Head Golf Coach at Muskingum College from 2006-2008; Assistant Basketball Coach at Shepherd University, 2008-2010; and worked at the Ohio State Medical Center from July 2010 – May 2017.  Since June of this year, she has been working for the government in her position at DFAS/Department of Defense Finance and Accounting and makes her home in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
