Class of: 1940
Lou Romano, inducted posthumously, was a Clarksburg native and a tremendous athlete during his college years, competing in both football and basketball. He was a member of the great Nate Rohrbough teams of the 1930s and played in the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City. Mr. Romano is a member of the 50 Year All WVIAC Team. He began his teaching and coaching career at Notre Dame High School (formerly St. Mary's) in Clarksburg and later moved to Leewood Jr. High School and Charleston High School. His Charleston High School basketball teams won 318 games and three state championships. Lou is survived by his wife, Sperry, a son, Anthony, daughter, Monica Lou, and three grandsons.
