Class of: 1970
Jackie Joe Robinson truly epitomizes the word athlete. He was an All-Conference performer in football, basketball, and baseball. In 1970, Jackie Joe led the Pioneers to the WVIAC Tournament Championship in Charleston and later that fall, he was awarded GSC's Montrose Award during Homecoming activities. He began his teaching and coaching career at Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley and later earned his master's degree from West Virginia University while serving as a graduate assistant for their basketball program. After a stint in the business world with IBM Corporation, Jackie Joe returned to his home of White Sulphur Springs where he teaches art and coaches basketball at East Greenbrier Jr. High School. He has a daughter, Ashley Nicoe and a son, Ryan Lucus.
