Earl Hawkins, a Brandywine, Maryland native, competed in basketball at GSC. Earl was the "star" of the great Jesse Lilly, Jr. teams of the early 1970's. He still ranks fourth on the all-time scoring list, third on the all-time rebounding list, and was an All-WVIAC performer. Following graduation, he became a teacher in the Prince George County (Maryland) School System for fourteen years. This was followed by a seven-year stint as head basketball coach at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He then moved back to Prince George County schools as a vice-principal and since March 2002, has served as athletic director for the Prince George County School System. Earl and wife, Benay, have two children, Kendric and Kayla.
