  • Steve Shuff, a native of Ansted, WV graduated from Midland Trail High School in Fayette County and was a Point Guard for the Pioneers under Hall of Fame Coach Gary Nottingham. 
  •    He is #6 on GSC’s All Time Scoring List with 1,847 points
  •    #5 on GSC’s Single Season 3 Point Goals List (85.3 FGM, 1994-1995)
  •    #3 on GSC’s Career 3 Point Goals Lists (191) – 2nd at time of graduation
  •    2nd in the WVIAC in scoring for the 1994-1995 season with an average of 24.9 ppg

          In the above four years, GSC lost in in the
          Quarterfinals the first three years and was
          Tournament Runner up the fourth year.

  •    Since graduating from GSC, he has worked as an educational administrator for the past 12 years.  The last four as the assistant principal at Gilmer County High School. Coach Shuff is entering his 18th year as the varsity head boy’s basketball coach at GCHS and 22nd year overall as a head coach.  He has had 291 career wins at Gilmer County.  This year he is also Head Football Coach, a position he held for 5 years previously.
  •    He was named Little Kanawha Conference  Boy’s Basketball Coach of the Year in 2014, Mid-Ohio Valley Coach of the Year in 2003, and LKC All Sports Coach of the Year in 2015.
  •    Steve and his wife, Jessica (Triplett) Shuff) have 27 year old twins Kylie and Trey who are seniors at Gilmer County High School.
