Name: Al Lilley, Athlete
Class of: 1939
Al Lilley, inducted posthumously, was born in Homestead, Pennsylvania. He competed in basketball and was considered one of the finest players of his college era. Mr. Lilley played on the tremendous teams coached by "Nate" Rohrbough and was co-captain of his Glenville State team that played in the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City. He was captain of the Tri-State team during that period. Mr. Lilley coached at Burnsville, Oak Hill and Belpre High Schools and was School Superintendent in Vinton County, Ohio. His widow, Mary Hazel Butcher Lilley, died in 2009. They were parents of one daughter, Linda L. Swonger.
