Mike Eberbaugh was an All-WVIAC performer in basketball during the early 1960's for legendary coach Leland Byrd. He came to the Glenville program after leading Charleston High School to pair of State Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Finals in 1957. At Glenville, he joined fellow Kanawha Valley stars Tim Carney of Dunbar and Larry Gandee of Herbert Hoover. The trio has all now teammates again, on the hallowed wall of the Hall of Fame.

Eberbaugh made an impact on the Glenville program, averaging a double-double all four years in the Blue and White. This culminated in his senior season of '63 when he averaged 22.4 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. Now, almost a full 60 years later, he remains ninth on the all-time scoring list with 1,798 career points and sixth in rebounding with 966. He earned his Masters and then his Ed.D. after leaving Glenville.

He worked as a teacher and coach in Virginia and Ohio before returning to West Virginia and settling in Randolph County. He returned home to Charleston in 1982, running the family owned printing business, before returning to public education by joining the Putnam County Board of Education During the final two decades of his career, Eberbaugh  served as Superintendent in three different school systems; Tucker County and Grant County in West Virginia, and Bullitt County in Kentucky.

After retirement, Eberbaugh moved back to West Virginia and settled in Pocahontas County. Now 81, Eberbaugh remains an icon in Glenville Basketball History.
